House Republicans have completed their alternative budget, which they claim will strengthen the economy and lead to a smaller increase in the deficit by giving giant tax breaks to the wealthy and freezing nondefense discretionary spending (Herbert Hoover, anyone?). They're really serious about this. At least I think they are. But maybe it's all a huge April Fools Day joke!
