Video of the Day

In honor of the most wonderful time of the year.

As a service to the corporatocracy, I would like to remind you that your family won't know you love them unless you embark on a crazed, irrational buying frenzy this weekend which will cause your stress level to spike through the roof, drive your family deeper into debt, and cause serious longterm environmental degradation. Hopefully your crazed consumer frenzy started today. It really should have started yesterday, it turns out. And if you don't get on it this weekend, you're doomed. Cheers!

The lyrics:
All the garbage that you have thrown away
Is waiting somewhere a million miles away
Your condoms and your VCR
Your ziploc bags and father's car
Dark and silent it waits for you ahead

So much garbage will never ever decay
And all your garbage will outlive you one day
You should sign a fancy signature to your messy messy portraiture
Because dark and silent it waits for you ahead
Making so much garbage each and every day
We make this shit for you to throw away
In plastic rooms in factories for you to dispose of as you please
Because dark and silent it waits for you ahead

With stomachs full of oil and vinegar
Stomachs full of oil and vinegar
With stomachs full of oil and vinegar hey hey
With stomachs full of oil and vinegar
Stomachs full of oil and vinegar
With stomachs full of oil and vinegar hey hey

La la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la
La la la la la la la la
La la la la
La la la la la la la la

Resolve to be less of a douche going forward. Until you become that perfect consumer that doesn't negatively impact anyone or anything when you spend your money how about if you just stuff it?

Without profit being made in the economy to pay taxes to pay you and your friends in the academy you idiots are screwed.

    You best remember it.

What's up with that guy? Where does all this anger and negativity come from? It's disturbing. Why hate someone just because they're trying to make the world a better place? Nobodys perfect, but trying to make some changes in the world is better than shooting everyone down.

A better question might be why does your girlfriend think she can lecture the world about spending money when I'm certain her spending reflects clear evidence of support of the "corporatocracy" also? Oh yeah, it also assumes others can't manage their credit and are going to get stressed out shopping for gifts when actually most people kinda enjoy buying gifts for people that are special to them.

It certainly isn't "hate" but thanks for confirming that if a person doesn't sign up for this holier than thou and disingenuous approach it is "hate" and she has somehow magically become a victim.

Finally, who says her position is going to make the world a better place?

  5. You seem to feel so threatened by a pretty innocuous suggestion to shop/spend less, that it just makes people wonder about your reaction, anonymous. Do you really feel like there's no room for critique of our cultural consumption habits?
